It was pretty good, but I gotta say that my favorite thing on the menu ever is the skillets! I got the Wanderer Skillet with fried eggs, cheese, potatoes, tomatoes, bacon and an english muffin. We also had the Texas-sized cinnamon roll - so decadent - balanced out with the parfait that’s also p good without the calorie guilt.Īnother new thing about Le Peep is they introduced a new rotating menu item that has a throwback dish and a brand new one - like this churro waffles with bacon ribs (double fried ribs - tastes like bacon!). There are also some yum fancy coffee drinks to try too - even some with more than caffeine in ’em. Like, watch out Jimmy John’s Le Peep is coming for your slogan. Also, Le Peep delivers the food freaky fast, y’all. We started with some waters and coffee for the table - because Le Peep hosts tons of business meetings, each table gets their own water carafes and coffee pots to insure minimal interruption from the wait staff. The ginormous breakfast menu is pretty much the same as it’s always been - the owners said their loyal customers would raise hell if it changed too much - except for one thing: They got alcohol, beer and wine now, and….

<3įast forward to 2017 when Le Peep reopened at its new location in River Oaks. Then, on my dad’s 60th birthday for a TBT, they went for breakfast. Anyways, my dad managed it and was such a hotshot (he was regularly on the local news ? for some reason? I won’t pretend to understand the late ’70s Houston news cycle.) Anyways, they would go to breakfast there after late nights at da club. There was a club that was in the area called The Ritz (“It was like the Studio 54 of NYC” – direct quote from my mom). We are Houstons premier Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant, for the past THIRTY (30) years, with two Houston area locations. Side note: My PARENTS ate at Le Peep when they were my age (!!!!).

The new, swankier Le Peep is now right behind Eloise Nichols and Bosscat Kitchen. But an expanding River Oaks District threatened that longstanding Le Peep on Westheimer until it found a new spot just down the street. For those of you who might be worried something you like might not be on the new menu: if you can remember what it’s called or what was is in it, they’ll make it.Le Peep is one of those Houston things that us born-and-raised Houstonians take for granted, you know? It’s just always there for a casual breakfast or quick lunch. New dishes will be added throughout the year. There’s Le Peep’s off-the-menu Churro’ n Bones, combining their signature waffle crusted with cinnamon sugar and a heaping side of “bacon on the bone,” or bone-in cured pork belly. That includes the Fruit Parfait, with freshly baked hunks of granola instead of crumbles and layered with strawberries and bananas. While the food menu still features many customer favorites like The Roost (two eggs your way with potatoes, your choice of meats and an English muffin) and The Health Club, featuring six heart- and calorie-friendly options for brunch, some dishes have been taken up a notch. Now, though, diners can hop on a barstool and choose from a selection of Katz’s Coffee, including lattes and cold brew from the tap. That’s right, no more waiting in line with cups of coffee anymore, though those are still available by the front door. The new spot is over 4,000 square feet, with a warm tile and wood vibe and a real coffee bar. Watching the breakfast and brunch crowd evolve over the years, though, they felt it was time for a location change and a menu upgrade. Long time lovers of the Galleria Le Peep need not worry as the old school menu favorites and the entire staff of the previous location relocated. Owners Mark Mobley & Brendon Murphy have been well aware of Le Peep’s loyal following over the years. All are served from open to close, seven days a week. There are also salty dogs, craft beer and wine. It’s now located at 4340 Westheimer in Westheimer Oaks (the center that is also home to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations and Eloise Nichols Grill & Liquors).Īlso new (at both the Galleria and Memorial City locations) are classic brunch cocktails like bloody marys (for those that like it spicy, ask for them to add a “kick”) and mimosas. A Houston breakfast staple since the 1980’s, Le Peep’s Galleria spot got a face lift when it opened the doors at a new location this past December, just in time for the new year.
